A day in the air with Dad…

Today marked a very special moment in the air for me as I had a very special passenger…

My dad.

Dad last flew with me on April 14th, 2002 so it felt like I was taking him up for the first time again. His last flight occurred shortly after I earned my wings.

The flight was incredible. The air was smooth. The visibility was good and…did I mention, I was flying with my dad? I was so proud of him for joining me…and honored by his presence.

My father, Jack Easton Moore, at 3500 feet MSL
My father at 3,500 feet

The “Bomber Burger” we devoured at the Airport Diner in Fredericksburg was a pleasant moment to reflect on the first half of a fun flight. I also got to show off the Hangar Hotel and took him to see one of the rooms.

Before long, my father and I were lifting off and pointing our Skyhawk towards a wide open sky. A short 30 minutes later, we were cruising over cars on Highway 281 as we made our approach and landing at San Antonio International Airport.

Thanks Dad for making this a flight I won’t soon forget.

Love you!

Shortly after the flight, I received an e-mail from my dad. Here’s the text:

I had a very eventful day , as I was invited to ride along with Justin to Fredericksburg , and eat one of those famous Bomber Burgers. I was so proud to to accompany such a good Pilot , who is so thorough , and has such a unique way to make you feel safe. The ride was so smooth and the landings were the same. I couldn’t have spent that time doing anything more important. Thanks Justin , for spending your time with me today. I am not talking about just any good Pilot, I am talking about my Son, of whom I am so proud. Thanks again and I Love you.
