Sharing the fun of flight…
One of the great benefits of learning to fly is sharing the experience with others. About a month ago I was joined on a local flight by two of my friends - Joel Ziegler and Marco Villareal. We departed from San Antonio Intl Airport and made the very brief journey south to Stinson Municipal Airport.
We explored the control tower and some of the new exhibits there and then Marco and I departed for a quick flight to the practice area. Joel remained at the airport with the intent of videoing our departure and arrival.
Marco and I flew to the practice area and did some steep 45 degree turns and other flight maneuvers. When we returned, Joel captured our arrival on video. Too cool!
As I go back and review this landing I see that I had a slight balloon during the roundout but maintained the landing attitude until our touchdown. It’s a fun experience to see video of your landing - from the outside!
Sometimes the shortest flights offer the most fun and this was one of those situations. The three of us left Stinson, flew over nearby Sea World, Fiesta Texas and Marco’s house. It was a great flight and left the three of us grinning.
