Introduction to the sky…

Kyle is fourteen years old and today marked a very special day.

No, it’s not his birthday. Today marks the day that Kyle was properly introduced to the big, blue sky up above.

Kyle became my fifth Young Eagle today when he and his father joined me for a fun flight over nearby Canyon Lake.  Just moments after lift off, Kyle commented on how much fun he was having. He was seeing his familiar world from an unfamiliar perspective. I captured an image of him in the backseat of the Skyhawk early in the flight and wow…look at that smile.Kyle at 3000 feet

The youngest Young Eagle…

Shannon - 18 weeks pregnant - at 3500 feet!

Today marked a very special flight. Truly, the youngest Young Eagle I’ve ever introduced to aviation.

My unborn child.

My wife Shannon is pregnant with our baby daughter. Our first child. We’re thrilled, amazed and totally overwhelmed by the gravity of this event.

When I mentioned to Shannon that I was going to go fly this morning, she was eager to join me. We both quickly recognized the “cute” significance that in the truest sense, a third passenger would be joining us for the ride.

The photos are coming soon!

An upgrade or so ago, the photos for my blog got beamed into cyber-purgatory.  Shannon, my better half and web guru, assures me they’ll be returned soon to this space-time continuum.

So…thanks for being patient.  And for those of you new to the blog, just wait till you see all the photos you’ve been missing!

General Aviation under attack (again)…

I don’t think I could have said it any better myself…

Here’s a post my wife recently created on her blog. I am blessed that she has been such a solid supporter of my flying. I echo her comments a thousand percent…

Cessna’s “Next Generation Piston”

I’m ALMOST done with prepping a good sampling of my photos from HeatVenture…I mean AirVenture 2006. I’ll have about 35 images or so for your viewing pleasure. It was another great show and I was honored to accept the assignment to take photos for General Aviation News once again.

One of the big surprises was the fly-by of a “top secret” new Cessna that is in the works. At the end of a press conference about their other big news item - a possible Cessna entry into the LSA market - Cessna’s CEO Jack Pelton announced that Cessna is working on what it calls the “Next Generation Piston” airplane.
